Biography

    Lance Gross is an accomplished actor, producer and photographer. He is currently starring in the Fox television series “Our Kind of People” produced by Lee Daniels, opposite Yaya DaCosta, Morris Chestnut and Joe Morton.

    Gross was previously seen in the role of Lincoln on CBS’ “Hawaii 5-0,” as a series regular on Fox’s “Star” as Maurice Jetter, while also appearing in the recurring role of Billy Colton on “MacGyver” for CBS, and in Amazon’s Too Old to Die Young with Miles Teller from director Nicolas Winding Refn.

    Gross has also been a series regular on Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow” opposite Nichole Behari and the lead of the NBC drama “Crisis” opposite Dermott Mulroney, Gillian Anderson, and Rachael Taylor.

    Gross starred in TV One’s “When Love Kills: The Felicia Blakely Story” directed by Tasha Smith, the BET anthology series “Tales: Trap Queen” directed by Benny Boom, and BET’s “The Bobby Brown Story.”

    He is the first actor to win four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne.”

    Gross is also the creator, producer and star of the MACRO digital series “I Turned My Camera On” on Essence, which combined his love of photography with a series of celebrity interviews. The series featured Michael B. Jordan, Omari Hardwick and Kelly Rowland, among others.

    Other credits include the Tyler Perry film Temptation opposite Jurnee Smollett, Brandy Norwood, and Vanessa Williams; Lifetime’s remake of “Steel Magnolias,” opposite Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard, Phylicia Rashad and Jill Scott; Fox Searchlight’s Our Family Wedding alongside America Ferrera, Forest Whitaker and Carlos Mencia; and guest appearances on USA Network’s “Royal Pains.”
